Unit 6
Hello everyone, This week we learned a lot but I want to focus on just one of the exercises. Universal loving kindness. Imagine a world or just a town, heck even your circle of friends if everyone involved practiced universal loving kindness. The phrase we were asked to repeat for 10 minutes started sinking in towards the end. I really like the way it starts with the first two lines saying let all individuals find the good stuff but in the last two lines it said "May I assit" with getting others all the good stuff in life. I guess thats what it all boils down to. We need to stop thinking of what I need and start thinking of what others need. This is a basic belief my parents tried to teach me. This is a basic belief my religion has tried to teach me. Its time to start walking the walk. sure I help when I can but only if its convenient. Well thanks for listening to my thoughts hope you found it worth your time.

  1. Brian,
I think we all could use a little reminder that making ourselves happy is important but doing the same for others helps in a big way. I think people in today's society have become so self-consumed, it is more apparent to me daily where I work. It is so sad to see how human kind has lost the ability to show loving-kindness to their kids, wives, mothers or a stranger. I enjoyed learning these exercises and I think they will help me in my journey and I hope they help with yours as well. Good Luck to you.
